Many companies have stopped accepting paper resumes and require you to fill out the on-line application.
You must be able to follow the application instructions. Some companies want you to build your resume in their on-line system. Others will allow you to cut and paste your resume.
Whatever method the company uses, make sure you understand the instruction and follow them closely. Failure to follow these instructions may result in you not being in the "applicant pool."
Just a few things you need to keep in mind when you are applying for a job using an e-resume:
- You can apply on-line by using the “cut and paste” method. This means that you can actually cut and paste sections of your resume on to the employer's website.
- You can use the “custom build” method by applying directly to the database and filling in the questions asked.
- Make certain you have a valid email address. If you do not, then the company cannot get in touch with you.
- Your email address should be professional (not imsuchacutiepiex@gmail.com)
